Third-Party Inspection Coordination

Our Services

Third-Party Inspection Coordination

Independent verification at the source. We plan, schedule, and coordinate inspection activities at manufacturer facilities  ensuring materials meet project specifications, approved ITPs, and international standards before release.

NASQS coordinates independent third-party inspection activities at manufacturer and fabricator facilities across India, China, Southeast Asia, and the Middle East. We serve as the coordination layer between your project team, the manufacturer, and approved inspection agencies  ensuring that inspections are planned, scheduled, executed, and documented in accordance with project requirements.

Our coordination covers the full inspection lifecycle: from ITP review and witness point scheduling through to final release documentation. We do not perform inspections ourselves  we coordinate with qualified, independent TPI agencies to maintain impartiality and ensure compliance with client and regulatory requirements.

This approach gives you the assurance of independent verification without the administrative burden of managing inspection logistics across multiple vendors, locations, and time zones.

Our Inspection Coordination Scope

ITP Review & Alignment

We review Inspection and Test Plans to ensure witness, hold, and surveillance points are correctly identified and aligned between client requirements, project specifications, and manufacturer capabilities.

Inspection Scheduling

We coordinate inspection timing with production schedules, ensuring inspectors are available at the right stage of manufacturing not too early (wasted visit) and not too late (production already advanced).

Witness & Hold Point Coordination

We manage the notification process for witness and hold points, coordinate inspector attendance, and ensure that production does not proceed past hold points without proper release.

Pre-Shipment Inspection (PSI)

We coordinate final inspection before dispatch covering dimensional verification, visual inspection, marking checks, packing assessment, and documentation review.

Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT)

For equipment and fabricated items, we coordinate FAT activities ensuring test procedures are approved, witnessed, and documented in accordance with project requirements.

Inspection Reporting & Release

We manage inspection report collection, review findings, coordinate non-conformance resolution, and ensure final release documentation is complete before shipment authorization.

Types of Inspection

We coordinate a comprehensive range of inspection and testing activities based on project requirements:

Visual Inspection

Surface condition, weld quality, marking verification, dimensional conformance, workmanship assessment

Dimensional Inspection

Length, diameter, wall thickness, straightness, ovality, flange dimensions, bolt hole alignment

Non-Destructive Testing (NDT)

Ultrasonic Testing (UT), Radiographic Testing (RT), Magnetic Particle Testing (MT), Liquid Penetrant Testing (PT)

Pressure Testing

Hydrostatic testing, pneumatic testing, leak testing — per applicable codes and project specifications

Material Verification

Positive Material Identification (PMI), chemical composition verification, mechanical property confirmation

Functional Testing

Valve seat testing, actuator operation, FAT procedures, performance verification

Documentation Review

MTC verification, heat/lot traceability, welding records, NDE reports, calibration certificates

Our Coordination Process

01

ITP Review

We review the approved ITP and identify all inspection points, witness, hold, surveillance, and review mapping them against the production schedule.
02

Inspector Assignment

We engage qualified TPI agencies with relevant product and industry experience, confirm inspector credentials, and brief them on project-specific requirements.
03

Scheduling & Notification

We coordinate inspection timing with the manufacturer's production plan, issue inspection notifications, and confirm attendance for all required points.
04

Inspection Execution

Inspectors attend at the scheduled stage, perform required checks and tests, and submit inspection reports with findings, measurements, and photographs.
05

Review & Release

We review inspection reports, coordinate resolution of any non-conformances, and issue release recommendations once all requirements are satisfied.

Standards We Inspect Against

All inspection activities are coordinated in accordance with applicable international codes and standards:

  • ASME: Pressure equipment (Section VIII), piping (B31.1, B31.3), dimensional standards (B16 series)
  • API: Line pipes (5L), valves (600, 602, 6D), flanges (605), inspection practices
  • ASTM: Material testing, mechanical properties, chemical composition requirements
  • AWS: Welding procedures (D1.1), welder qualifications, weld inspection criteria
  • ISO: Quality systems (9001), NDE procedures, testing methods
  • EN: European material standards, testing methods, structural steel specifications
  • NACE: Corrosion requirements, sour service specifications (MR0175)
  • Client Specifications: Project-specific requirements, approved procedures, special inspection criteria
